Heart patients should eat and what abstinence

Foods of plant origin, especially the seeds, grains, beans, fruits and vegetables can reduce the risk of heart disease. Meanwhile foods high in sodium can increase blood pressure and increased risk of stroke and heart attack.

Many studies show that diets of the Mediterranean population reduces cardiovascular risk factors. Their principle is more vegetables, more fruit, more fish eaten with bread, cereals, potatoes, beans, nuts, yogurt ... People here eat very little meat, low in fat from butter, coconut oil, palm oil, meat instead of unsaturated fat (olive oil). From there, the scientists concluded the nutritional recommendations for heart patients as follows:

- Reducing salt: A diet reduced salt to help reduce and control high blood pressure.

- Increase Potassium: Potassium deficiency affects blood pressure, cause heart arrhythmia. Additional potassium diet helps control blood pressure more effectively. Potassium-rich foods include bananas, oranges, pear, plum ...

- Eat more vegetables, fruits, whole grains.

- Avoid processed foods. Avoid foods and drinks high in sugar.

- Use vegetable oil instead of animal fat to avoid saturated fats.

- Do not eat processed meats that should be purchased for healthier cooking.

- Do not use butter together mayonnaise when preparing food, you should only use one of those two things only.
